“No victories no defeat – Just a burning chalice of deceit”

Tiny Mix Tapes’ review of 2006’s Kode9 & Spaceape album “Memories of the Future” mentions that this quote was begging to be taken out of context. I went back to this album a few hours ago and I realized that this suits the Gaza massacre best.

There’s so much to be said about this inhuman slaughter and Western Society’s total apathy to these people whom it sees as no more than pests at best, these “backwards” people who cause immigration problems and wage holy wars, who will never be a market to their luxurious brands and are generally there to be mined for their cheap labor or exploited like animals; they can be better off dead to make room for the prestigious people of the Israeli state, but what’s all the fuss, it’s not like their lives are as important as the Georgians is it?! (sarcasm mode off)

John Berger the famed art historian put it really good and today thankfully there seems to be some kind of mass awareness rising around the world against this war. We all know that one nation’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter, and wars like this don’t end with more war. We have seen this all around the world and many of us also in our own countries.

All of us who are apathetic against inhumanities and turn our backs to one or the other people, class, nation or sect, are indeed the real cause of wars going on. You cannot just shrug your shoulders and go on living your “good life” while people try to survive in shit. I’m sure one day born-lucky citizens of the US / EU and the rest of the world will get this and learn to share.
