Got a message from artist Thiaz Itchколи под наем a few days ago that he’s on a 3CD free download compilation on Peppermill Records together with other stalwarts of the electronic & netlabel scenes : Vernon Lenoir, Gangpol und Mit, Jason Forrest, Satanicpornocultshop and Karl Blau among others. There’s no extensive info on the release but I’ve figured out on my own that they are covers of theme songs. Now we know most cover versions are a way for talentless hacks to make names for themselves in the commercial scene; yet these covers are covers in the original sense, taking something from the source as inspiration and redefine it in a new vision. 42 diverse & crazy songs not limited to electronic & IDM, with some guitar dilly thrown in there as well, it’s really hard to guess the originals so this might result in a fun game of guess among music nerds.
