Berlin based netlabel Resting Bell has been a treasure trove for me for the past few days. They’ve recently done their 46th release yet we’ve only recently heard of them. Resting Bell is a niche label that focuses on ambient soundscapes, drones and experimental music. It’s getting increasingly hard to keep up with the amount of music that’s being released especially in this scene with hundreds of CDR/casette labels and netlabels alongside established ones.
If field recordings, shining drones, ambience, guitar processing, wall of noise and glitches are your thing you’d be happy to mooch off their back catalogue and sink into your couch with your headphones, with artists such as the prolific Ian D. Hawgood, Etienne Michelet who recently released a new EP on Frozen Elephants netlabel and Mensa you’ll be in for a treat.
Lost Lanterns – Polar Living
Mensa – The Brighten
Astrowind – Dream of the Lighthouse Keeper
Ian D. Hawgood – A Life in Abstract Colours
Grey Surfaces – Increase Swell
