Tal’s 2001 Sub Rosa album “An evening with Charlie” is one of those rare gems, that have been criminally underrated and underheard. Releasing an album on Sub Rosa / Quatermass is a feat in itself, yet Tal didn’t stop there and flat out created one of the best examples of sample based electronic music we’ve ever heard since that day. Seven years later his music still sounds fresh and enjoyable, full of big brass samples, vocals and exotica composed into such freaky IDMish beats, only experts like Atom Heart could handle. It’s hard to get ahold of his newer projects since his site has disappeared off the net for some time, and the only place I could trace his whereabouts was +crosscross, so this is the only album in my collection coming from this mysterious producer.

Tal – I was told
Tal – Got to go
Tal – Yes man
