After the break with Island, Scratch moved to Amsterdam where a short-lived label, Black Art, was set up. In 1982 he fronted some U.S. dates with an American reggae band called the Terrorists. Residents living near one show’s promoter called the police at 6 AM to report a half-naked man with a machete jogging through the neighborhood. It was Scratch.
