Selections from the mp3blogosphere

* Samim - Heater (Diplo Remix) (Gee wizz) Diplo remix of Samim’s 2007 anthem Heater.

* Sonny Sharrock – Kula-Mae (Cyberinsekt) Jangling avant jazz/blues guitar.

* Cloudland Canyon – Dambala *excerpt* (Press play, record) PPR : The first song, “Dambala,” starts off with a drone, but it turns into a disturbing trip into space, with robotic creaks and glistening blasts of space. Then, halfway through the piece, with a jarring shift not unlike a primitive-era bone turning into a post-futuristic spaceship, the song turns into something different. A rather nice beat comes in, and keyboards are now prominently featured. Near the end of the piece, though, the sounds from the beginning fade back in, creating a lovely little sonic orchestra.

* British Sea Power – Waving Flags (8/1). Mid paced epic indie rock from Rough Trade’s British Sea Power. Not much to write home about though.

* Burial - Untrue (Allan’s World Music). At last someone sees through the Burial hype. The first Burial album was absolutely groundbreaking but the second one is not, it’s just a good album nothing more.

* Tony Allen – Love’s a natural thing, Studio – Life’s A Beach (Prins Thomas Remix) on and a Morgan Geist edit (Ugly Talented)
