Freddie Hubbard R.I.P
It’s the last day of 2008 and we salute it by reminiscing a mammoth we two days ago. The influential jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard has passed leaving behind a legacy of jazz music and inspiration. He was a legend and he will be remembered through his music till eternity. R.I.P

Some old Dilla beats off Delicious Vinyl boss Mike Ross’ archive has seen the light now with Dilla’s younger brother John aka Illa J rapping over them which resulted in “Yancey Boys“.
Xploding Plastix
Last time we checked Xploding Plastix their music was a crossbreed of nujazz/downtempo and electronic music. That I guess was their excellent 2001 album “Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents“. After 7 years, a trip to a major label, collaborating with the likes of Kronos Quartet, the Norwegians are back.

Remember Clutchy Hopkins, the so called mysterious beat digger from Midwest?. Ubiquity has released an exciting new collabo between C.H and Britain’s exotic kookhead Shawn Lee.

Juaneco Y su Combo
No one will shun you if you haven’t heard the genre called Chicha, a psychedelic take on Cumbia which is itself a rather obscure Latino genre. Inspired by fermented maize beer of the same name, this Peruvian Amazonic version of Cumbia features “Andean melodies and the psychedelic sounds of surf guitars.
