Here’s a mix by our fellow friend from Istanbul, Cenk Akyol, who’s relocated to Australia a few years ago. He’s a picky expert in electronic music & many other things, as denoted by his myspace influences : “1985-1988 Electro Funk”, “1988-1992 Acid House” “1992-1995 Rave & Trance”, “1995-1999 Techno & Gabba”, “1999-2003 Minimal”. I haven’t been in any particular style since 2003. Electronic music seems to have lost a lot of it’s sincerity! Beside electronic music; cool jazz, sad and calm classicals, lounge and easy listening. You’re sure to call a guy oldschool, when he has “Mike Ink” as his top friend. Here’s what he has to say about the mix :
I decided to upload a contemporary jazz selection, starting with abstract hip hop and jazz noir type of thing. Then the tempo peaks up with some contemporary jazz in middle part of this selection. Then again slowing down, this time with some digital processing. At the end, a slow motion bliss by Namlookand Move D ends this very gently. As the title suggests, it’s well enough to see where jazz came today, with the posibilities of electronics and talented producers.
