Hello all, promotion mail from artists and labels have been collecting in my mailbox for some time, unfortunately with my busy schedule I haven’t been able to reply or feature them here. Today I found some time to check a good portion of them. Here are some that garnered my attention. Most are indie & folk. Wow, there must be thousands of indie bands right now. Hard to make a name for you in the indie scene nowadays, eh? BTW those kids from Fanatic Promotion are really doing a fantastic job for the indie scene. Kudos!

Here’s my selection with some brief notes about the bands:

Clipbd Beaks has a new one on Lovepump United also home to Genghis Tron, Usaisamonster, Crystal Castles and Health.

Hammer No More the Fingers is a three piece from Durham/Chapel Hill. Obscure Sound review.

Oh Astro is the wife-husband duo of Jane Dowe and Hank Hofler making odd interpretations of popular forms. Club music, children’ songs, and fragmented samples of pop/rock all intersect on their first full-length album on Illegal Art

The Antlers‘ Peter Silberman has a new EP out, for free download. Here’s the full zip.

Lukestar is a 5-piece from Oslo, Norway which has recently released their first 7-inch from upcoming album “Lake Toba“.

Levi Ethan Cecil has a funky name and is from from Portland, Oregon. I mean come on I’d kill for a name like Levi Ethan.
