#23 is a joint production by Can Ayverdi who hosts the Cleansweep on dinamo103.8. He is more of the deep, jazzy, disco & hiphop guy, while anything strange and not fitting is probably selected by me. And also his teaser sounds much better than ours. Show starts with an instrumental Manu DiBango jazz track and advances into a Les McCann song from 1964. Next by Air is an alltime Cleansweep favourite, I’m not too keen on the frenchies but this song he wouldn’t let go. 2 more tracks of standard chill & urban music and the next bit which starts by the Lee Dorsey classic is selected by me. The jewish reggae piece is off the Great Jewish Music series featuring covers of Sasha Argov and a new track off Balkan Beat Box’s new album. Dinner at the Thompson’s is Cleansweep’s favourite, a few times I heard him exclaim “this is good shit”, so maybe I’ll get him to write a review. The next track is the instrumental version of Common’s “The People” which I featured here a few days ago.
