Adrián Juárez and Ilia

Today’s selection is comprised of recent netlabel releases and a few exceptions. The first exception is Vernon Lenoir’s “Sator Arepo Tenet Opera Rotas” on Ego Twister from 2005. I know Vernon from his superb Balkan megamix on WM Recordings and this album is no less. Totally non-serious, including short sound clips & silly melodies & beats, if you’re a fan of Cassetteboy stuff, you should give it a whirl.

WM Recordings has two new releases by the German artist Daghoti. and Jan Turkenburg who is 43 years old and impersonating Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young simultaneously!

Thanks to MOG friend Mktackabery, I’ve found out about the experimental electro acoustic Stigae Music from Bulgaria. Lots of interesting stuff to listen to but I particularly liked Shells by the Argentinian Adrián Juárez and stuff by George Hekt.

And finally there’s Dramacore, a label specializing in no-fi, 8 bit, chip music gone sour, breakcore and noise! Most of the things they do are consciously non-musical, so beware if you’re easily offended!
