Random 4 for today

I didn’t have the time to write a proper post today so here’s a selection from what I’ve listened to today. First a soulful afrobeat on a funky beat from Cymande’s self titled 1982 album. Then a truly hypnotic track by the king of bearded disco DJ Harvey “Lovefinger” which I guess gives its name to the blog lovefingers. Next up is a percussive Sufi blues by Turkish ney player & composer Kudsi Erguner, incorporating kanun, percussion, electric guitar and Islamic vocals sung on top of western beats. Finally another world music piece by the Senegalese chanteuse Ndeye Marie Ndiaye Gawlo from her new and fantastic album Gawlo Senegal.
