When I saw the title “Diwrnod Efo’r Anifeiliad” I thought “hey, here’s a group from Luxembourg speaking their weird Luxembourgian language, a proud heritage from medieval times!” It didn’t take too long to see that they’re from Wales and that language is Welsh. Radio Luxembourg’s “A Day with Animals” has 4 short but irresistably cute and catchy guitar lead pop songs and English & Welsh hybrid lyrics. I think I fell for the choral work on the opener “Mostyn a Diego” but it can be the chorus of “Eli Haul” as well. Dunno. I’ll be waiting for a proper album from “Radio Luxembourg” because I really can’t get enough of their happy 70s twee pop. They played on this years Glastonbury and you can watch the whole show here. The record is out on Peski Records
