Lukid

Hey folks, we’ll be leaving for a one week vacation tomorrow so there’ll be fewer updates even, I’m trying to stock up a few updates now and the first one I jumped on is Lukid’s “On and On” on Werk Discs. The thing with this album is I got this around April after reading it at Other Music newsletter, I listened to it, liked it a lot, then forgot to blog it and a few days ago I went back to it and I got stuck with it once again. Londoner Lukid has made the perfect stay at home at hot weather music for people who are stoned and only able to headbop. There’s all kind of deep, jazzy influences, dusty beats & textures and cut-up samples galore. Almost everything I look for in electronic music that’s bordering on hiphop. If you were into Jan Jelinek’s “Loop Finding Jazz Records (which is one of the alltime best electronic albums) or Prefuse 73 stuff you’ll be loving “On and On”. This album was barely recognized at These Rocks Pop, where he called it Can meets Dilla, it must be a real heartbreaker to be unrecognized after you’ve done a perfect album among thousands of craps. So as the voice of the unheard :D , once again it’s our duty to give you Lukid. There’s so many good tunes on this one and I’m sure it’ll make up our extended top list at the end of the year.

Buy it digitally at Boomkat, there’s an exclusive free track
