The second part of minimalia covers different sides of the minimal dance spectrum. Whether it’s Kadebostan’s African vocal induced dancer or Efdemin’s lush bell melodies, the thing that makes me identify all as minimal is only the rhythm. The last two tracks are dark and distressing in the way it reminds me of the painstaking late hour low energy dancefloor nights I had a few years ago. Thank God, I stopped going out to danceclubs and dj gigs.
BTW, this weekend we’ll be representing in what’s going to be the best festival of this summer in Istanbul. Organised by our home radio Dinamo it’s our duty to play our first ever live show!. and with acts like Jamie Lidell, Osunlade, Nouvelle Vague, Beirut, CSS, Easy Star All Stars, Cocorosie who wouldn’t want to although we’re gonna play on the last day :( , I think I’ll be enjoying the said artists and might take some sneak peaks to Kelis, Booka Shade and some local bands. The complete list is here with the closing act by Marilyn Manson *yuk*. As I said we’re going to be waking up leftovers on monday @ 12 if you’re around be sure to give us a listen and give us some stage fright.
Dachsund – Somehow
Efdemin – Knocking at the Grand
Kadebostan – Spirit Soldiers
