Do you remember those dark periods of your life when you didn’t have last.fm? I sure don’t! A comparatively new and overlooked service by last.fm is the labels pages, where participating labels put their wares online for the global market. It’s of such a huge benefit to small labels I think it’s right on the brink to getting more widespread use. Carte Postale Records is an early bird, as they’ve already got their full back catalogue on it with free tracks from each album. This small Belgian indie/electronica label already has two minor-famed artists like Kingfisherg and The Oslo Deadtrash Project and I should add that they’re not the only two who deserve wider appeal after a careful inspection.
Their latest release by François Boulanger aka Kingfisherg called “Maverick Mouth” instantly sparked my interest as the delicate & warm melodies of 2005’s “The Heartspray” still ring in my mind. You can sample 9 full tracks of mellow electronic pop from the album here, but don’t stop there as there’s 14 more albums for your enjoyment.
