* UK Netlabel Earth Monkey Productions has two new free download releases for your enjoyment. The first one I recommend is The Cardboard Lung’s Patient Lifted, which consists mostly of bright drones & grained vocals and ambience, and occasionally a subtle rhythm.

The Cardboard Lung – Fleece Sale
The Cardboard Lung – Silver Lino
Cousin Silas – The Sands of Shepperton
Cousin Silas – Crumbling Infrastructures
Cousin Silas – Abandonned Motorway

* The second one is the new Cousin Silas album, which is free download at Last.fm but non existant @ labels site. (weird?) Cousin Silas is my favourite Earth Monkey artist and this release here is 18 tracks of drone & ambience ranging from warm stuff to cold & haunting stuff inspired by writings of J.G.Ballard. I tend to think the dark soundscapes are much better on this one even though I don’t like dark ambience at all, perhaps because Ballard’s writings are mainly dark & dystopic. Listening to Ballard Landscapes while actually reading some dark Ballard sci-fi would be perfect just check out Abandonned Motorway and weep for humanities future.

Bad Cop Bad Cop – Mdmm
Faune – Early reflections out-take
Amparo SoleĆ” – Casi

* And finally a wideranged 9 track electronic compilation called Pathmusick meets Kreislaufby our friend Mogwai’s netlabel Kreislauf. Bad Cop Bad Cop’s calm minimalism is a huge fave for me here. Also Metafame’s Sooner EP is out soon on Kreislauf, you can preview it here on Last.FM if you’re into sorta-oldschool IDM/electronica.
