We’re definitely into this senseless electro-pop god-knows-whatever hybrid from Brasil’s Bonde Do Rolê. Their “Solta o Frango EP” on Open Field has carved its name in my head instantly with the first track. (well at least I can still remember it starts with B, and I wonder how the ê is pronounced.) This should be brasil’s answer to cheerleader music, and God knows I love to watch Brasillian cheerleaders dance.
I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about but the music seems more simple & fun than booty bass. The second song “Bondallica” has a drunk metalhead bragging about how pop music and punk sucks and how metal rules on top of THE most known metal riff ever. (I initially thought it was Rammstein’s Du Hast, but I’ve since changed my verdict yet can’t pinpoint it.) Terribly funny mashup. Yet the third song “Caminhão de Gás” is the most fun with the fiddly monosynth melody on very basic drumbeats. Simplicity seems to be the key in Bonde Do Rolê’s music. Having fun, and getting wasted without having to bear the the hipster electro-clash scene should be wonderful!.
Ok, thanks to Brooklyn Vegan, we now know they’ve been on tour with Diplo, and the style of the music is called baile funk. Now you should go watch the band’s live show on Youtube and also this one on Google Video.

Hurray for two more songs on On the Download, this will quench my thirst for the next 15 minutes. Now gimme more of this music.
