Obliqsound Remixes
Thanks to a reader’s tip, I found out about Obliqsound’s remix project which features favourites like Matthew Herbert, Osunlade and Atjazz, and is out on limited edition with a carrier designed by the world famous designer Karim Rashid. I couldn’t get hold of more tracks than this instant classic remix by THE house producer of the year Osunlade. I don’t know how much he can do it but Osunlade is obviously steaming right now, if you’re interested in african/latin rhythms and deep house music, you should get everything he releases out on his Yoruba family.
The original song is by 26 year old Tony Devivo, Venezuelan percussion player which can be seen performin in NYC with the flamenco group Gazpacho Andalu and the Mr. Vivo Big Band. I’ve also included the original track by him, which has an extended percussion part and a chant in the middle of the song. Osunlade has made an anthem out of this track, with subtle electronics, and a 4/4 remix with the chanting part, one of the best house tracks I’ve listened this year, and if the whole album is of this quality (which should be looking at the roster) then this is a must get!.
