I could swear that I heard a female voice on Budapest but Poni Hoax is a 5 piece all-men band from Paris. I’d listened to their hit song Budapest before and when they released their self titled album in July, I was curious about them because it was produced by Joakim and released on Tigersushi. This album is a post modern rock/electronics fusion, with hints of “Italo disco, garage, noise and murder ballads“, well that about sums it. The song she’s on the radio is extremely catchy with a strange chorus and that’s the reason I kept on listening to the album, which kinda grew on me. Not my usual type, but it’s good accessible pop music with a dirty/dark edge, I’m sure your friends will like it even if you don’t.
