Peaches - Impeach my Bush

Well, I thought I lost interest in Peaches after her great debut Teaches of Peaches. I even skipped her live show in Istanbul a few years back, because her second album Fatherfuckereff was a lackluster effort that used the same sexual & theatrical formula. That’s why I didn’t start listening to this album with huge deal of excitement or expectations. I don’t know why, maybe I’ve missed her gritty voice, or her primitive booty bass music, or her schlock rock attitude, but from the beginning of the first track down to the 11th track or so, the album surely gripped me by the nuts.

Her fuck all attitude and her sexual obsession has gone berserk on this one, on the opener “Impeach my Bush” she goes “Let’s face it, we all want tush / If I’m wrong, then impeach my bush” or on Slippery Dick she goes “Fist fuck, cock suck, what’s the diff?”, she’s going full on, very politically incorrect to disturb established ideas and people. And well, if you’re not a redneck conservative, or a member of the European Christian Democrats, you’d probably realize that this is a stage persona and not a public enemy that’s poisoning kids, and you’d definitely have great fun and sing along in no time, because the songs are not very complex and dead catchy. How complex can you be when your music has elements of booty bass and distorted punk guitar in it anyways?

This is high above my expectations kids, it may be basic three-chord rock and not really groundbreaking stuff, but it’s much more fun than some art-rock bands can deliver in their entire career, and above all, Joan Jett and Josh Homme makes appearances on this one. You still remember Joan Jett right? :)
