I’m not a gun
Veteran artist John Tejada and jazz/improv guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto’s I’m not a gun just released their 3rd full length album on City Centre Offices. “We think as instruments” are far from Tejada’s mostly 4/4 personal minimal house stuff as Mr. Nishimoto adds guitar reverberations, melodies and textures over Tejada’s electronics making an organic and full sounding instrumental rock / electronic album. Pretty jazzy and smooth acoustic guitar stuff with a dreamy ambience suitable for both background and foreground music. The music reminded me of Napoli is not Nepal’s Revolv_er and I thought for some time that this was a project of the same guy. I have to give props to the duo, I normally don’t find Tejada’s house music so interesting, but this is one of the best electronica CDs of 2006, diverse, fluid and full of musical ability and atmospherics.
