Zimpala is the brainchild of DJ Fred BNX. A 6 piece band from France, that makes elegant easy listening pop music with all kinds of different influences like nu-jazz, lounge and easy listening. Singer Noémie Brosset is capable of singing and finding melodies in both french and english, and I’ve decided to choose one from each language so you can see how she pronounces those “J” sounds so nicely.

Most of the titles on this one were composed by band members AntOne, Anthon and Noemie and I think it’s a great album with diverse music on all songs. The album can be presented to underground and mainstream listeners with equal success, and I think French Music Channel MCM is already behind them. I’ve first heard of their name from all those HedKandi lounge and chillout compilations, but I always thought that those bands featured on those kind of compilations are one shot bands, because frankly I mostly don’t hear about them anywhere else, but this time Zimpala changed my mind for good.
