Final Fantasy - He poos clouds

Welcome another direct entrance to years top 10 list!
Here’s Final Fantasy, Mr. Owen Pallett’s solo outfit. After a little bit of search I found out that Pallett is a part of Picastro along with other bands like Internet and King Tut and also string arranger for the Arcade Fire. wow?
This is really an astonishing mock concept-opera album, very neo-Dadaist in itself. In his own words, “”He Poos Clouds” is an athiest explanation of magical phenomena, Yukio Mishima, Julia Kristeva, Galina Ustvolskaya and ragtime, love of video game characters, the dying, Pern and modern dating, the link between condominium retail and impotence, Bartok’s 2nd string quartet, Irish metafictional characters and baking.” Ok, so now you know!
The music is equally bizarre, something that feels like a radioplay on BBC that’s set in 18th century Britain. A chamber orchestra with strings, piano, harpsichord and impressing vocal arrangements, playing some really mental music, that’s talking about weird theatrical characters. Well it may seem absurd, but yeah the music is equally absurd and thoroughly entertaining. The best thing is there’s some guy like Owen Pallett, who’s kind enough to do write this music. Because I’m sure no one would have if he didn’t and what a loss that would have been.
This is a contemporary classical opera that’s actually fun to listen to.
Buy his music from Tomlab also home for great bands like Pi:ano, The Books, Xiu Xiu, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.
