Label roundup Part 1 : Top 40

Tags: , , , ,

Here’s a label roundup off some new labels I’ve found out about this week.

The first one is a netlabel called Top 40 from Russia dealing with minimal, ambient, drones and other electronic experiments. S. The guys say:

We don’t care much about concepts, details, cover arts, etc. Our main and single goal is to make you possible to download files, and listen to the music.

Nice! The roster is mostly composed of lesser known artists, apart from Motor and Daniel Maze. However I’m particularly impressed by Piam and Top 40’s latest release Fitz Ellerald plays Erik Satie (humorous wordplay on Ella Fitzgerald!). They’re counting back from 40 and they’re at 18, so they have 22 releases waiting for you to download!
