Folk sounds : part 2

Let’s continue our folk trend, with some more folk songs from other countries.
Lasairfhiona aka Raicin Alainn is a contemporary celtic songwriter, this song is a traditional celtic song “Sí Do Mhamó Í” meaning “She’s your granny”, I don’t know how the traditional one sounds, so I can’t compare it, but her voice is so beautifula and expressive, even my mom came around and told me this is beautiful music.
British Sea Power is a wellknown band (with a greaaaaat name) compared to the other artists, but this is a rare b-side track from their `A lovely day tomorrow` single (which is the only thing i own from them :( ). This shows a departation from their usual style, an uptempo song with brass instrumentation that could be the theme song to a cartoon that features a hero with a turban, or a pirate show maybe . dunno why.
And last is a very special song that makes it to our home speakers via Machinefabriek’s very limited CDR. This is an old forgotten chinese song, I don’t know what these people are saying but this is dumbfoundingly catchy and it forces me to try and sing like them, unfortunately i can’t, so maybe our chinese friend can help us decipher what these people are saying and guide us to similar chinese folk music. Btw, the second song of the CDR, has Machinefabriek’s deconstruction of this song incorporating drones and other sampling techniques.
