Myspace roundup

Tags: , , , , ,

Well, myspace is continuing to be a place to contact musicians after all the hype and teenage buzz it creates. I’ve made some friends and listened to some nice music on there, and I figured I can make a roundup of a few artists now and then.. Here’s the first one covering some diverse music.

Let’s start off with Uske Orchestra. really cuckoo stuff going around here.. yes you heard it cuckoo.. think about Dat politics cuckooness performed by an orchestra (or just one person?) with ADD written all over it, bits and pieces of music from innumerous genres mixed together with regard to no instantly recognizable rule. It’s like a childrens orchestra on acid. Hard music for many, but it’s totally loveable.

Uske Orchestra - Japanese Merengue
Uske Orchestra - Elle et un theatre
Dat Politics - This Way video

Stranger K is a fellow musician from Istanbul. His electronic stuff has got the cinematique edge on most songs and his music is powerful and sentimental. I think he’s one of the most capable bedroom producers I’ve seen around here that really make songs instead of tracks.

Stranger K - See Me

Found them out through Leif’s top 5 myspace list. Electronic indie should we say? Quite nice.

Velella Velella - Hey Cuz
Velella Velella - Hunter
Velella Velella - The bread is hard as crackers

David Fenech is David F, who also has a great mp3blog. He’s a skillful composer and instrumentalist, who has been influenced by many contemporary musicians and composer of the last decades. Check the haunting Crying for Nothing if you like minimalist compositions or people like Pierre Bastien , Hauschka etc.

David Fenech - Alaeeeygh
David Fenech - Crying for nothing

The Konki Duet is three girls from tokyo, st petersburg and paris // they like to play bitter-sweet ritournelles with electric, electronic and acoustic instruments. // they also like to eat chocolate, drink champagne, watch tv and they enjoy sex with friends. // they can have so much fun
my note : folk music with a gentle childish choir and accoustics. pretty soothing.

The Konki Duet - Il fait tout gris
The Konki Duet - In the trees
