Definitely incredible stuff from Madlib. He’s probably my favourite jazzy leftfield hiphop producer. He hasn’t disappointed me ever, not once. This is a track from his side project
Yesterday’s New Quintet’s last offering Sound Directions : The Funky side of Life on his own Stones Throw label.

“The Funky Side of Life” represents Madlib’s first full length collaboration with session musicians – players whose tenures include Macy Gray, The Dap Kings, Antibalas, Breakestra and Connie Price and The Keystones – on horns, guitar and backup keyboards.

Killer hook, killer old jazzy vibe. I can’t stop pretending i’m wearing a hat and chain-smoking..
