a review of what I learnt this week

← Previous : Okkyung Lee // Jarboe // Rubin Steiner ||| Next : Fat Freddy’s Drop - Roady

cliptip has not been properly updating for a few days, but has many videos under its belt from artists like Bloc Party, Broadcast, Roisin Murphy, Adult, Black Dice etc..

videos.antville.org recently featured videos from the decemberists, popol vuh, wagon christ and broken social scene and more.. all on the front page so no seperate links..

interesting links I gathered this week :

I have to mention Kick ass Kung-fu first so that you don’t lose your concentration. One of the best examples of immersive interactive games, this is a great insight on the shape of things to come in a few years.

Best inventions of 2005 by Time Magazine. My choices are tied between the Smart Rope that knows when its gonna break, The ApriAlpha bot which recognizes people by sound and shape of body (so cute too), the motion-detecting portal, and the LifeStraw which will filter water to create safe drinking water for only $3. In fact there are many more inventions and most are incredibly useful. Future, here we come!

Colormatch Redux, which is an automated colormatcher that should be considered before beginning on a design project. (maybe I should change the color scala more often)

Wayfaring, which is a nifty web2.0 project that is built with the googlemaps API. You can easily create your own maps, like Famous places in Chicago or things to do while visiting NYC. SO nice!.

And last but not least, the internet of things.
